The Biennial International Conference on Surgical Education and Training (ICOSET), will be held in Copenhagen on November 30, 2015. The theme of this year’s event is “Competency based training for better surgical care in the 21st century” and the program includes prominent international experts in surgical education, healthcare- and airline safety.

The mandate of the ICOSET is dedicated to sharing global developments and innovative approaches in surgical education through interactive lectures and debates. The conference provides the rare opportunity to meet and network with surgeons, educators and policy makers from different jurisdictions.

The ICOSET 2015 meeting will follow extremely successful events held in Melbourne, Dublin, Ottawa and Harrogate. It is being held back-to-back with the 12th annual Oresund symposium on clinical skills training. The 2015 program will focus on practical aspects of modern competency-based education including curriculum design, assessment tools, and implementation in practice. Furthermore, the expert panels will discuss the impact of modern education on patient safety outcomes, clinical quality and costs.
