The first Øresund Symposium focusing on simulation in healthcare education took place at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark in 2004. The initiative that led to the creation of this Symposium was based on the regional development, where the Capital Region in East Denmark was connected to the Southern part of Sweden via a 9 mile long bridge.
Since 2004 the Øresund Symposium has alternated in Copenhagen, Herlev, Lund or Malmø. Internationally well-known key note speakers have been invited for each subsequent symposium, as well as speakers presenting local simulation based educational research. The symposium is the biggest simulation meeting in Scandinavia.
This year’s meeting will be the 12th consecutive, and it will be take place back-to-back with ICOSET 2015 at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen 30th November and 1st December.
